RoadBoard 0.9.7-beta is the next beta update, with a strong focus on localization, display customization, and improved usability across different screen formats.
Alongside full Russian language support, RoadBoard now includes a native brightness control for the first time.
The settings interface has also been redesigned to keep important options accessible even on particularly small or ultra-wide displays.
Russian language support and improved localization
Russian has been added as a fully supported interface language in RoadBoard 0.9.7-beta.
This brings the total number of available RoadBoard languages to 17.
Settings, the license window, Maps search, and the Speed Camera App now also use the shared UTF-8 language catalog when Russian is selected.
New localization entries for brightness, display size, width, height, and apply have also been added to the language catalogs, together with their English fallback texts.
New brightness control
RoadBoard Settings now include a native brightness slider.
Brightness can be adjusted between 25% and 150%, and the selected value is automatically stored in the current RoadBoard user profile.
Your preferred brightness level is automatically restored the next time RoadBoard is started.
The ETS2 plugin has also been updated to detect brightness changes while RoadBoard is running. Changes are applied immediately to the entire RoadBoard stream texture without requiring RoadBoard or Euro Truck Simulator 2 to be restarted.
To avoid unnecessary performance overhead during texture streaming, brightness processing uses a precomputed lookup table. This prevents expensive calculations from being performed individually for every pixel during transmission.
Improved settings for different display formats
The RoadBoard settings layout has been reorganized.
On particularly short or unusual display formats, some options could previously become more difficult to access. Version 0.9.7-beta restructures the settings interface to improve usability in these configurations.
Language selection, display size, and brightness settings now remain accessible even when using a low stream height.
What remains unchanged?
Existing license keys remain valid, and the current 24-hour lifetime of beta licenses has not changed.
When upgrading to RoadBoard 0.9.7-beta, existing WebView2 profiles, Spotify and YouTube logins, and saved RoadBoard settings are preserved.
The ETS2 plugin also remains unchanged in this regard. It continues to use PrismTextureStreamer.dll and can still optionally be installed directly into the ETS2 plugin folder through the RoadBoard installer.
RoadBoard 0.9.7-beta is another step toward making RoadBoard more flexible, more widely localized, and easier to adapt to different simulator setups.
